World MS Day Seminar: Pathogenic roles of EBV-infected B cells in multiple sclerosis modelled in a primate

Description

Professor Bert ‘t Hart, a Neuroimmunologist at the University of Groningen, is an international leader in the field of research in non-human primate models of multiple sclerosis (MS), an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. He has worked in particular on the marmoset model of MS, which is the most similar to human disease. His research publication record can be found here. In this seminar, he will present evidence for the role of the human gamma-herpesvirus 4 (HHV4, Epstein-Barr Virus) in the pathogenesis of MS. 

The seminar will take place on 30th May, which is World MS Day. If you would like further information or would like to meet Prof ‘t Hart after the seminar, please contact Dr Bruno Gran, Hon.
