Exploring Link between Female Empowerment and Child Health

 

Professor Smyth and Dr Shalini Ojha have recently attended a networking meeting at the A.N. Sinha Institute for Social Studies in Patna, Northern India . Shalini Ojha (Associate Professor of Neonatal Medicine); Alan Smyth (Professor of Child Health); Gil Yaron (Honorary Assistant Professor); and Esther Bott (Lecturer in Sociology); are pictured here (left to right) with Mr Sunil Choudhary (Centre for Promoting Sustainable Livelihood - https://www.rojiroti.org). The meeting was funded by Nottingham Global Challenges Research Fund competition an focussed on: “Exploring Link between Female Empowerment and Child Health.” The networking event was attended by a cross section of academics from universities in different parts of India and generated research questions for the next cycle research by the Nottingham Global Child Health Collaboration.
