    Studentships:

    Extracellular vesicles and skeletal muscle function and growth in ageing and obesity: Role of adipose-tissue and satellite cells.

    About the project: The aim of this studentship is to investigate the role of adipose tissue vesicles from lean and obese individuals in muscle growth, metabolic function and regenerative capacity during ageing in order to identify novel pathways and targets for the development of interventions to combat sarcopenia. 

    Supervisory Team: Prof Kostas Tsintzas, Prof Simon Jones, Dr Sophie Joanisse.
