Description
The Gersum Project is organising a conference from the 5th to the 7th of September 2018, at St Catherine's College, Cambridge. The project investigates the Scandinavian influence on English vocabulary, and the conference will feature papers by Dr Jayne Carroll ('Old Norse watery terms in English place-names and beyond'), Prof. Judith Jesch ('Scandinavian runes in England: dating, distribution and contexts') and Prof. Thorlac Turville-Petre ('Topographical vocabulary in the Wars of Alexander'). Further details and a provisional programme are available on the Gersum Project's website. The registration deadline is the 21st of August 2018.
