Aims
This was a funded knowledge exchange project to investigate and develop resources to improve understandings of and information about the end of life and later life care needs of lesbian, gay and bisexual and trans people.
Methods
A working group led by Kathryn included:
- Tes Smith, National End of Life Care Programme
- Bridget Moss, St Helena's Hospice
- Sam Turner, National Council of Palliative Care
We hosted a series of consultation workshops around England for older LGBT people and those who work with them which fed into the development of resources.
Additional funding from the School of Health Sciences, University of Nottingham contributed to a survey of care homes exploring knowledge, attitudes and practices relating to LGBT residents (Kathryn Almack, University of Nottingham and Paul Simpson, University of Manchester)
