Assistant Professor in Optical Fibre Sensing for Healthcare and Medical Devices, Faculty of Engineering
David Gomez is Assistant Professor in Optical Fibre Sensing for Healthcare and Medical Devices at the University of Nottingham. His research involves the development of optical fibre sensors and its application on medical devices. David has been working on the fabrication of a smart wound dressing to monitor wound status on patients with diabetic ulcers.
Dr Gomez has also experience on the requirements to obtain approvals from regulatory bodies such as MHRA and Ethics Committees to perform clinical trials, as well as the creation of technical file and trial master file based on the requirements from MDR UK 2002 and MDR 2017/745.
