Pilot Randomised Evaluation of Singing in Dementia

PRESIDE is a new study exploring the effects of group singing for people with dementia and their carers.

Funded by the Alzheimer's Society, the study will be recruiting participants from the greater Nottingham area.

5 January 2021 – Launch of new study of online singing groups

While we are still unable to proceed with the study as originally planned due to the current Covid-19 situation, we are excited to announce that we are launching a new study of online singing groups for people with dementia and their carers using the Zoom platform, and we’re looking for participants. Please see below for more details on how to take part. We plan to proceed with the original PRESIDE study format when the public health situation permits.

How to take part

If you are interested in being part of the PRESIDE study we would love to hear from you. If you:

  • have a diagnosis of dementia
  • have a carer who can attend an online singing group with you
  • have access to the internet and a device capable of running Zoom

then you could be eligible to take part.

We can help you set up Zoom if you have not used it before. All aspects of this study will be delivered remotely and there is no need for you to leave your home in order to take part.
