Project meetings
The full team will be meeting regularly throughout the project. In December 2013, we held our first team meeting in Liverpool. This was our first chance to meet everyone and to discuss our ideas for the project ahead. At our second meeting on 12-13th May 2014 we were very pleased that representatives from our partner organisations joined us.
Our third full team meeting took place in Liverpool in December 2014. We were able to review progress of data collection and have a proper catch up on activities to date. All members of the team took part in the International Conference of Historical Geographers in London in July 2015, and then met again in Nottingham in December.
In October 2016 we met again in Liverpool to discuss plans and progress for our project book.
Lectures, conferences, workshops and public events
Weather Extremes: Making and Breaking Records in Nottinghamshire, free public exhibition, Weston Galley, Lakeside Arts, Nottingham, 16 December 2016 - 26 March 2017. This exhibition is curated by Georgina Endfield and Lucy Veale in association with the Department of Manuscripts at the University of Nottingham. There are a series of talks and a commissioned performance to accompany the exhibition. Full details are available.
Throughout the project, all members of the project team have presented papers and organised sessions at a number of academic conferences and workshops, as well as giving public talks and seminars. In 2015 we presented research materials at: the European Society for Environmental History Conference in Versailles, France (July), the International Conference of Historical Geographers in London (July), the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Annual Conference in Exeter (September) and Rural History in Girona, Spain (September).
In 2016 we organised sessions and workshops at the Royal Anthropological Institute conference on Anthropology, Weather and Climate Change (May) (call for papers 
) and the Royal Meteorological Society's conference on High Impact Weather and Climate (July).
Oral history events
Now in the final year of the project (2016) we are organising a series of events in each of our case study regions to gather oral histories of extreme weather events and weather memories and artefacts.
