As an international student, you'll benefit from support and advice provided by the International Office, including a professional and confidential advisory service both before you arrive and throughout your time here. Our specialist advisers can offer help and guidance on issues including immigration, employment, financial matters, personal and family concerns and academic difficulties. Find out more on our website.

As you prepare to study at Nottingham, the International Office will contact you to guide you through the process of applying for a Tier 4 student visa. For further information, see our 7 step guide to the Tier 4 student visa process.

The International Office also arranges trips, excursions and events for international students, and provides opportunities for you to build links with other international students and the local community in the Nottingham area. Find out more on our GlobalU webpage.

When you're planning for university, it's a good idea to do some research about the possible extra financial support you may be entitled to so you don't miss out. Our International Office offers a range of high achiever prizes for outstanding students from selected schools and colleges.

You may also want to check if there are specific scholarships and bursaries available for your course by looking at our online prospectus – if you select your course and use the funding tab there will be information about any additional financial help related to your subject.

  • welfare services – including health and dental services on University Park Campus, a free counselling service and faith support and advice
  • Student Services Centres – there is lots of information on our Student Services website about the different types of support open to you through our centres
