This video is included in a set of presentation videos on the Development of Oro-facial Structures and its Clinical Correlations. The videos describe and illustrate the pre-embryonic period of human development, which are weeks 1-3, the development of brachial arches, the face and palate, the types of facial clefts with illustrations and the development of the tongue. Franklin D. Roosevelt's Fourth of July Address

Cognition Model in Conceptual Designing
Both design researchers and cognitive scientists have developed various process models to study human creative behaviour in design. The models developed are often based on observations of design processes and analysis of design protocols. This research paper reports the-stateof- the-art in the area of cognition models that present design activities in conceptual designing. The research paper investigates the approaches of these cognition models. A new approach of a cognition activity model in co

Network analysis (or critical path analysis) seeks to overcome that drawback, particularly where large or specialist projects are concerned. The critical path is found as a result of the analysis of the network. There are many computer software packages which can help a manager to carry out a network analysis. The network of rivers in the Sacramento--San Joaquin River Delta has a long history of human modification to fulfill residential and agricultural water needs. The Cosumnes River, which flows into the delta, is relatively unimpeded save for earthen levees erected along its banks to prevent natural flooding events from ruining nearby agricultural fields.
Scientists from University of California--Davis recently analyzed the sediment trail of a flood that broke a Cosumnes levee using airborne light
The ancient Mayan civilization was indigenous to present day Central America and southern Mexico. Its chief city for nearly a millennium and a major Mayan archeological site is located on the Yucatan Peninsula--it is Chichen Itza. (03:38)
Scientists in western Canada have long been tracking the extent of the mountain pine beetle. This native insect kills weak and old lodgepole pine trees, thus promoting healthy growth of young forests. In times of drought, beetle populations can spike, spreading to healthy pine trees. Historically, cold winters kept beetle populations under control. A new study published in the journal Nature highlights how climate change is promoting pine beetle outbreaks—and how the outbreaks are contributing
