In 2011, Sergei Eisenstein's silent film The General Line (1929) was screened with a score for the first time. Eisenstein had failed to find funding for a soundtrack when making the film, but left a set of notes intended as a guide for a composed score.
Commissioned by the BFI, composers Max De Wardener, Ed Finnis and The Elysian Quartet joined forces to produce an original score from Eisenstein's notes. The musicians discuss their collaboration on this unique project.

Details of a methodology that students can use to follow and explore an issue or topic in newspapers, television or radio over a period of time (1-2 weeks).
This is a "dry laboratory" activity for teaching endocrine physiology. The model is a "virtual rat" and the students collect data without using live specimens.

Auditory discrimination difficulties may play a significant part in the poor language skills often associated with the special needs pupil and the teacher will need to pay particular attention to this area of development. Lessons here attempt to integrate listening skills into the general development of language in the young child.

As a continuation of the theme of potential and kinetic energy, this lesson introduces the concepts of momentum, elastic and inelastic collisions. Many sports and games, such as baseball and ping-pong, illustrate the ideas of momentum and collisions. Students explore these concepts by bouncing assorted balls on different surfaces and calculating the momentum for each ball.
