Biography

I started my career in community pharmacy, working for Boots. I completed my pre-registration and moved into a relief pharmacist role. Shortly after, I was put forward for a store manager role in a local pharmacy. After impressing the area with my work there, I moved to Boots support office to work in the pharmacy operations team. Here I worked on multiple projects, wrote SOP's and worked with the chief pharmacist's office.

To develop myself more clinically, I left Boots support office and took a junior residency post at the Royal Derby Hospital. Here I worked on rotations through common wards such as respiratory and cardiology, to more specialist areas such as oncology and aseptics.

After completing my residency, I began working in a private mental health organisation. Here I worked as part of the MDT to implement a new clinical pharmacist service to the area. Shortly after, I moved back in the NHS and worked as an Advanced clinical pharmacist on the acute admissions team. I worked on the medical admissions unit, and on the short stay unit.

I now have a split role, utilising all the skills I have learnt in previous jobs. I work 2 days as a Primary Care Network pharmacist, 2 days at the University and 1 day in an acute mental health hospital.
