The University of Nottingham was again confirmed in the intercontinental higher education elite, in global tables published in 2009. The established world rankings index compiled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University ranks Nottingham 10th in the United Kingdom. The Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings in 2009 place Nottingham in the Top 1% of all universities worldwide. The institution is now firmly established within the world's 100 best universities in both tables.
