Supporting ourselves and each other following tragic events

The tragic deaths in Nottingham on Tuesday 13 June of students Barnaby Webber and Grace O’Malley-Kumar, and member of the public Ian Coates, have affected the University community deeply. This is a difficult time for us, and everyone will be affected at different times and in different ways. To help us come together and support ourselves and each other, a number of resources have been curated to offer tools and information on topics that we are likely to encounter in coming weeks. You can find the resources below:

  • Collated support from UoN learning resources. You will need a Moodle account to view these, please contact DTS to get set up if you are a first-time user and use your University username and password to login
  • Relevant guides and webinars from our Employee Assistance Programme and other organisations supporting us at this time

Mental health first aiders

Our mental health first aiders provide a first point of contact for staff seeking support. They are trained to have a good awareness of mental health to signpost staff to appropriate professional support and provide the opportunity to engage in supportive conversations. Find your local MHFA here.

Our employee assistance programme

Employee hub gives you access to our employee assistance programme providing free confidential support, over the telephone (0808 168 2143) or on-line 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
