Medical Engineering Unit

The Medical Engineering Unit (MEU) was formed in 1969 and since then has been engaged in manufacturing items for use in medical research and education, and clinical care, as well as in the commercial arena. The MEU is renowned for providing its customers with the highest level of quality and service.

Today, based within the School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Nottingham’s Medical School in the Queen’s Medical Centre, the MEU has developed into a multi-skilled operation, with diverse, but cohesive, abilities. This allows the MEU to mount a rapid and active response to the requirements of research and industry, offering one-off prototyping through to small batch production.

Thanks to the integration of CAD/CAM systems, advanced equipment and a highly skilled workforce, the MEU is able to design and build high-quality equipment and medical devices to customer requirements. The MEU’s manufacturing capabilities are complemented by ISO quality control and regulatory systems, and it produces a comprehensive range of products for laboratory, research and hospital customers. The MEU continually strives for excellence and embraces innovative approaches to manufacturing in order to provide a personal service to its customers.
