Current Research

I am a member of the neuronal networks electrophysiology laboratory. We are one of the few labs in Europe/USA equipped to carry out simultaneous multiple neuronal recording and detailed analyses of neuronal network interactions from in vitro or in vivo preparations. Studies are directed at understanding network behaviour associated with epilepsy, nociception and analegesic pharamcology, action of drugs of abuse and hypothalamic control of feeding and circadian function.

Past Research

Vvisual neurophysiology; circadian biology;

Future Research

In collaboration with School of Physics and School of Mathemeatical Science developing novel approaches to neuronal ensemble activity analysis. With Prof D Auer develop simultaneous fMRI & electrophysiological recording technique to investigate physiological and pharmacological-induced changes in CNS function.
