Representative: Gurdeep Mattu

Gurdeep Mattu is Publisher for Linguistics and Philosophy at Bloomsbury Academic. He formerly was part of the Continuum Group and joined the linguistics list as Commissioning Editor in 2008, from SAGE. Gurdeep has commissioned a wide range of books in his time on the list, from William McGregor's Linguistics: An Introduction to John Olsson's Wordcrime: Solving Crime Through Forensic Linguistics. He published his debut novel Sons and Fascination in 2011 with PaperBooks and lives in East London. He can be contacted at gurdeep.mattu@bloomsbury.com

Equinox

I have worked for Equinox since its inception in 2004. I handle the marketing for the books and journals and oversee the production of books and sell rights. Equinox publishes academic books and journals in linguistics, archaeology, popular music, religious studies and historical cookery. We have a backlist of over 200 titles and publish about 30 books each year. We have 11 journals in linguistics including Linguistics and the Human Sciences, The Journal of Applied Linguistics and Professional Practice and the new Journal of Research Design and Statistics in Linguistics and Communication Science. On the books side, we have published System and Corpus edited by Geoff Thompson and Susan Hunston, Exploring New Paths in Language Pedagogy: Lexis and Corpus-based Language Teaching edited by María Moreno Jaén, Fernando Serrano Valverde and María Calzada Pérez, Statistical Methods in Language and Linguistic Research by Pascual Cantos Gómez, and Contrastive Discourse Analysis: Functional and Corpus Perspectives edited by Maite Taboada, Susana Doval Suárez, Elsa González Álvarez.
