Thursday 18 March 2021, 10.30am

A panel discussion, chaired by Dr Mohamed Elmaghrbi, showcasing the latest research on how Covid-19 has impacted on minority groups and exploring how the University can use this to inform its strategies and policies.

Covid-19 has exposed existing inequalities affecting multiple groups in our community.

Join Professor Sarah Sharples, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and People, and Jaspal Kaur, Director of Human Resources, who will discuss the impact of Covid-19 on our staff and students, and celebrate the contributions of colleagues in responding to the challenges affecting our community.

Dr Li Shean Toh will share the findings of her research into Covid-19 related discrimination and the support required by those affected by Covid-19.

Dr Tracey Warren will share insights from her ESRC funded research into the impact of Covid-19 on working women.

The panel then looks to the future, considering how we continue to support the needs of staff, students and our community.
