Key aims and expertise

The Cummins Innovation Centre is a strategic alliance between the University Of Nottingham and Cummins Generator Technologies, targeted at advancing electrical machine technologies.

The Centre pulls together academic staff, researchers and Cummins employees with a range of allied engineering expertise to form a true multidisciplinary team which can effectively and holistically look at electrical machine systems and their integration within high-performance applications.

The Cummins Innovation Centre has been recognised as a centre of excellence by the Royal Academy of Engineering who have awarded the Centre a prestigious senior fellowship and additional strategic equipment funds.

It’s becoming a seamless interaction between Cummins and the University. We have a symbiotic relationship which integrates the creative initiatives at Nottingham with the ambitions of Cummins in new products.
