Welcome to the Institute of Genetics
The Institute of Genetics is one of the University of Nottingham's acknowledged strengths in research. Collectively, we excel in key areas of biological research, from genes to genomes, molecules to cells, and model organisms to humans. Visit 'Research' to find out more about our work.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 90% of the School’s research was considered to be at the “Internationally Competitive” level or above, and 50% was judged to be in the “Internationally Excellent” and “World Leading” categories. For the University of Nottingham as a whole, the 2008 RAE was also very positive, with the University rising to rank 7th in the most widely quoted (Research Fortnight) league table of RAE outcomes for UK universities.
