Description
NASA Europa Challenge 2017

SMARTIES Entrepreneurship competition

NASA Europa Challenge 2017

The SMARt ciTIES competition is part of the NASA Europa Challenge 2017 and is open to UK and India students. It gives you the opportunity to build a great application that serves some aspect of the OpenCitySmart design and uses NASA’s open source virtual globe technology, Web World Wind. By doing this you will advance a platform that allows your city to win!

To participate, you must first establish a team of three to five students, from a single University or High School, with any mix of undergraduate, graduate and PhD students. Graduate students may enter as a single individual (there is *no team requirement for graduate students* but teams are still encouraged!). Each undergraduate team or graduate student must have a mentor. The mentor can be a professor, an associate or assistant professor, or an official lecturer at the same university as the team. Together they decide, design and build a spatial data application that serves local, regional or national interests guided by the OpenCitySmart design and the INSPIRE Directive.

Winning teams will be awarded with:

  • £2500 for First Place,
  • £1500 for the Second Place
  • £1000 for the Third Place)

Deadline to make your project website and code available is 14 August 2017!
