Welcome to the School of Health Sciences website.

We provide a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and degrees in the fields of nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation, and allied health professions. We enable students to qualify in their chosen profession and help those already qualified to further develop their skills. 

We have an outstanding reputation for teaching and research excellence. Research within the school focuses on supportive and palliative care; education and health informatics; mental health; rehabilitation; and child and maternal health.

Continuing Professional Development

Our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme is a means by which health and social care professionals can develop their skills, knowledge and practice to ensure contemporary care.

Postgraduate study              

We offer a variety of full or part-time masters, certificates and diplomas for health and social care professionals, with a focus on either advanced clinical practice or research.


We have a strong research and knowledge transfer focus and have a large and vibrant community of doctoral scholars, including many international students.
