High Performance Computing

Training

We aim to provide a range of training opportunities both for people new to the system, and those who wish to explore more advanced techniques.

Introductory courses

We run 1 or 2 'How to use The University of Nottingham HPC' half-day courses every term. Prospective attendees must have valid account on both the central Unix systems, and the HPC. See the Central Short Courses web page for more details, under 'IT & Information Skills'

Advanced techniques

We would like to hear about your further training needs, beyond basic use of the system.

So far in 2010/2011 we have hosted a Nvidia Bio Workbench and CUDA workshop. This workshop described Nvidia's Bio workbench, and offered a hands-on CUDA programming session.

See workshop brochure for further details.

We would be interested to hear if anyone would like more in-depth training in this topic.

In 2009/2010 we hosted courses, provided by NAG/HECToR, on parallel programming techniques (MPI and OpenMP). See the HECToR training section for details upcoming courses, which may be of interest. We could offer to host these courses again, given sufficient interest.
