Recent Publications

My teaching is laboratory focused, running practical classes for 5 to 125 students across many undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These currently include BSc and BMedsci Microbiology, MSc Molecular Medical Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Microbiology & Immunology and the BBSRC Doctoral Training Programme.

The molecular biology sessions I have designed range from an introduction to basic molecular techniques such as micro-pipetting through to advanced methods such as Realtime PCR and microarray - sometimes in the space of a few hours!

I manage a laboratory in the QMC that has been dedicated and equipped for the purpose of bioscience teaching for classes of up to 28 students and would be happy to discuss its use for further teaching or training sessions with other staff.
