Biography

Yana Vinogradova achieved her Diploma in Applied Mathematics at Moscow State University (MGU), a five-year course equating approximately to Master's level in the UK. She then became a Research Fellow at the Cardiology Research Centre, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow, before coming to Britain and beginning work in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Leicester. She has also worked at the Centre for Health Service Studies (CHESS) and the Division of Health in the Community at the University of Warwick before coming to the University of Nottingham in 2005 to take up a Research Fellow post in the Division of Primary Care.

Current Research

Yana Vinogradova is a research statistician working mostly on projects based on QRESEARCH database. She joined the University of Nottingham in 2005 and has worked extensively in epidemiological studies. She is a mathematician by training (graduated in 1984, Moscow State University) with a strong interest in epidemiology. Her research involves the use of mathematical models and statistical methods to improve understanding of dynamics and incidence of diseases. She is currently involved in development and application of mathematical models for case-control studies investigating effects of drug use on general population.
