Current Research

Professor Williams' current research interests focus primarily on studies of the molecular basis of bacterial pathogenicity and host-pathogen interactions with the aim of identifying new targets for novel anti-infective agents or candidate vaccine antigens. His major research focus is on the regulation of gene expression through cell-cell communication ("quorum sensing") in pathogenic bacteria.
