Biography
I have been in Nurse Education for 20 years and i therefore have a wide range of experience across Nursing Undergraduate curricula, which ranges from development to implementation, teaching and learning, assessment, module and Course evaluation.
Current Role and responsibilities
I currently hold the position of lecturer having rotated out of the role as Common Foundation Programme lead over a year ago; a role i held for 10yrs.
- Currently my key role involves me acting as Module lead for Social Science (PO1)
- Teaching, learning and assessing across Dip/BSc in Nursing and Graduate Entry Nursing curricula and LBR work-based.
- Facilitation of Inter-professional students on CEIL modules
- Member of Practice Learning Team which is actively engaged in developing new ideas to improve student support in Placement.
- Active member of Erasmus Student Exchange Programme, linking withRepublic of Ireland for the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Physiotherapy .
- Student retention activities with regards to the further development and implementation of the Diploma/BSc Pre-course website and Pre-course face-face meeting for new students prior to the start of the Course. I am also actively engaged in exploring issues and develop initiatives around student suspensions/retention.
- Joint Co-ordinator of the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy of Student Equality and Diversity Advisory Group i am now working in conjunction with other Equality and Diversity initiatives in the School and developing activities to meet the Group's objectives.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of the Diploma/ BSc (Hons) in Nursing and Graduate Entry Nursing Students.
- Act as Personal Tutor to students on the Diploma/BSc (Hons) in Nursing Course
- Module tutorial support and marking on Diploma/BSc, LBR work-based learning, and Dissertation supervision.
