Biography

Dr. Bin Wu is a senior research fellow at School of Contemporary Chinese Studies and convenor of the Centre for Chinese Migration Studies (CCMS) since 2013. Before joining the University of Nottingham in October 2007, he had seven years of research experience in the Seafarers International Research Centre at Cardiff University.

Dr. Wu holds a BSc in Physics, a MA in Philosophy of Science and Technology, and a PhD in Human Geography. His research interests include rural sustainability and farmer innovation in China; internal and international migration; Chinese student migration and integration in host countries; Chinese higher education reform.

He has published many edited volumes and sepcial issues in relevant areas. He is a co-editor of the International Journal of Diasporic Chinese Studies (in Chinese). His articles have been appeared in many international journals: Agriculture and Human Values, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Business and Society, Journal of Contemporary China, Asian and Pacific Migration Journal. His recent publications include: Chinese Higher Education Reform and Social Justice (co-edited with John Morgan, Routledge, 2016) and a special issue for the Journal of Chinese Overseas with the theme: Integration of international students from China in host societies (guest editors with Stig Thøgersen).
