Journalism award for hospital nurse

 

A Nottingham nurse has won first prize at the Johnson & Johnson Skincare Journalism Awards in the category Best Healthcare Professional Trade Journalist, for an article she wrote about dermatitis.

Sandra Lawton,Nurse Consultant Dermatology at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, gained recognition for her article:  

Lawton,S (2013) Irritant and allergic contact dermatitis. Nursing in Practice. July/Aug; 53-58

Sandra, who has written over 140 published articles, won a year’s subscription to a healthcare professional magazine of her choice at the Johnson & Johnson Skincare Journalism Awards.

Delighted about winning, she said: “I’ve been working in dermatology for over 27 years and really enjoy sharing my knowledge and information to raise awareness about skin conditions. It is an important part of my role.The category I won rewards well researched, well-structured and creative articles  that equip their readers with balanced information that helps them make the right skincare choices. I am really proud to have achieved this.”
