Title: The Healthcare System in Singapore

Date: Thursday, 9th March 2017, 11.30am – 12.30pm

Venue: Room A08, Institute of Mental Health, Triumph Road

Abstract: Singapore is a densely populated island nation. Taking care of the physical and mental health needs of its population has its own unique set of challenges and difficulties. These include a rapidly ageing population, the increasing social isolation of the elderly in high-rise housing, as well as the juggling of limited financial and human resources. Policy makers and healthcare providers have endeavoured to make the Singapore healthcare system as efficient as possible whilst maintaining a high standard of care. This lecture aims to give a brief look at the ever evolving healthcare system in this city state.
