Current Research

Kirsty initially studied physics and graduated with a PhD. in Astrophysics from the University of Cambridge in 2009. She has since been working in the field of infectious disease modelling, first as a McKenzie Fellow at the University of Melbourne, then as an Anne McLaren fellow (2013-2022) at the University of Nottingham. She is particularly interested in understanding the role of the immune response and behaviour in shaping epidemic patterns, in particular within educational settings such as universities.
