Institute for Screen Industries Research is delighted to announce a webinar with David Martinez! David is the executive director of the Raindance Film Festival, the largest independent film festival in the UK, currently ranked among the top ten international film festivals for filmmakers. Raindance Film Festival is officially recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences USA, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the British Independent Film Awards. Winners of Best Animation Short/Best Documentary Short/Short of the Festival) categories will qualify for Oscar®, and selected shorts also for BAFTA considerations.

David Martinez joined Raindance in 2012, working first as Latin American film advisor before joining the production team in 2015. Over the course of his career, he has worked as a film programmer for the Glastonbury Festival as well as an events coordinator at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

After completing a Master's degree in Film as Mass Communication at the University of Leicester, David has advocated for diversity and representation in film. As a specialist in Latin American and queer cinema, he has become one of the most sought-after speakers in the field. His academic and professional experience in Mexico, the United States, and the United Kingdom include advertising, and marketing, with an emphasis on festival promotion of films. You can see his full profile on LinkedIn.
