Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
I am a BBSRC-funded post-doctoral research fellow in the Centre for Perinatal Research at the School of Medicine in the University of Nottingham. I am part of Dr Adam Watkins' lab group, investigating the sperm and seminal plasma mechanisms of paternal programming. My current research focuses on examining how sub-optimal paternal diets can influence early embryo development, implantation and placental development in a mouse model. To conduct my current research I use a range of specialist techniques, including embryo timelpase culture, in vitro embryo-cell culture.
I have focused my research career on reproductive health, I obtained a MRes in Maternal and Fetal Health at the University of Manchester in 2014, and a PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences from University of Glasgow in 2018. My doctoral thesis focused on the development of superimposed pre-eclampsia in a rat model and the impact hypertension has on placental development and uteroplacental vascular remodelling.
I am an early career researcher with a core interest in reproductive physiology and placental development. I am currently working in Dr Adam Watkins' lab group as a postdoctoral research fellow,… read more
