We have a wealth of experience of working with businesses to help them commercialise innovative technologies developed here at The University of Nottingham.
Our academic and research staff are continuously developing new ideas and technologies that are ripe for commercial applications.
We’re always keen to forge new partnerships with businesses wishing to license and develop these ideas. Over the years, many companies have profitably licensed and exploited our ideas.

We always have a number of technologies available for licensing and other forms of commercialisation.
Our technologies have applications in many industries. One example is SODA-LO, a salt reducing ingredient that can reduce salt levels by 25 to 50 percent in various applications without sacrificing taste. This was licensed to Tate & Lyle and is now being used in a range of baked goods and snack products around the world.

In some cases we'll set up spin-out companies to develop and commercialise our early-stage technologies.
Companies set up by the University are successfully operating in areas as diverse as regenerative medicine, nanotechnology, gamma rays and food flavouring – to name but a few.
These businesses also offer exciting investment opportunities for individuals or companies interested in our early-stage ideas.
