All postgraduate taught course applicants are encouraged to apply online using our online applicant portal. This allows you to upload all supporting documents required for the application, pay the £40 application fee and track the application process.
After creating the portal account please follow the on-screen steps to complete the application, including all required documents. The status can be checked after the application has been made by logging onto the portal with the username and password.
Please be aware of additional documents that some courses require (for example, design portfolios for MArch courses). Please see our submitting applications page for further details.
As with postgraduate taught courses, applicants for postgraduate research courses should apply through the online applicant portal, and following the step-by-step instructions.
Research applicants are also required to submit a research proposal with the application. The proposal helps the school establish whether they have an appropriate research proposal to undertake your research with the student. The proposal will also be used to assess the overall quality of a students application.
We strongly advise students to contact a potential tutor or a research administrator in the relevant school or department before making an application. This will assist the student in writing a relevant research proposal that our academic staff will be able to supervise. Our A to Z of research areas may be useful in identifying potential research areas and supervisors.
