The online learning environment gives students any-time/any-place access to course materials. The type of materials available, depending on your course, may include lecture notes and handouts, Powerpoint presentations, links to reading on the web, videos, recordings of lectures, podcasts, and interactive learning materials. The online content and activities may be essential to your studies or offer additional or alternative ways to gain understanding, perhaps to accommodate different learning styles.
There are ways to communicate with tutors as well as with other students to support one another. Announcements and key course information is often available here so it is a good idea to check in often. Increasingly, assignments are submitted electronically through the online learning environment. Students can revisit and revise the materials throughout the relevant period of study.
Most courses are blended learning and include face-to-face and classroom-based learning opportunities as well as independent study and online learning. The online learning environment is used differently in each module and the amount and type of information and activities available will vary.
