Biography

Stephen Greedy was born in Cardiff, U.K. He received the MEng and PhD degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK, in 1998 and 2002 respectively.

In 2003 he was appointed as a Senior Experimental Officer within the George Green Institute for Electromagnetics and subsequently progressed to associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His teaching has a focus on electronics and computer engineering and he undertakes research in the field of electromagnetics as a member of the George Green Institute for Electromagnetics Research group..

Stephen is also the Director of student recruitment for the Faculty of Enginnering.

Recent Publications

My teaching focuses on electronics and computer engineering topics. I co-teach on a number of modules and whilst the modules may cover a wide range of topics I have highlighted the areas I am responsible for.

  • EEEE1002 Applied engineering design (practical engineering design module covering both software and hardware and their integration to form complete systems)
  • EEEE3024 Robotics, Dynamics and Control (introduction to robot kinematics)
  • EEEE3129 Applications of AI in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (introduction to image recognition and object detection)
  • EEEE4115 Applied Computational Engineering (introduction to GPU computing/CUDA)
