Assistant Professor in Political Theory, Faculty of Social Sciences

I joined the department as an Assistant Professor in September 2017. I hold a BA in Politics (First Class) from the University of Nottingham, and an MSc in Social and Political Theory (Distinction) from Birkbeck, University of London. I completed my PhD at the University of Nottingham in June 2017.

Expertise Summary

My work deals with the interface between the history of political thought and contemporary democratic theory, with a particular concern for debates over peoplehood and collective agency. I am currently working on a project that examines the shifting meaning of the concept of 'constituent power' in the history of European political and legal thought, and the implications this has upon our understanding of collective representation.
