Kieran England is a doctoral researcher at the School of Politics & International Relations. His thesis focuses on the transgender pay gap and is supervised by Dr Gulshan Khan and Dr Natalie Martin. He is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council's Doctoral Training Partnership.
Before starting his PhD at the University of Nottingham, Kieran studied BA Politics at Nottingham Trent University and MA Social Science Research (Politics & International Relations) at the University of Nottingham.

Kieran's current project examines the experiences of transgender and non-binary people in the workplace and hiring processes to gain an understanding of how transphobic gender discrimination increases the transgender pay gap. This project also focuses on the UK government's current gender pay gap policies and how these can become trans-inclusive.
