Monday, 1st July 2019 marked the 22nd anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong to China. It was also the day when young protesters stormed and vandalised the city parliament building. In his continuing commentary on Hong Kong's popular uprising, Dr Andreas Fulda has put these dramatic escalation in perspective.
