Expertise Summary
I have been with the University of Nottingham Ningbo since 2007, having previously held research posts at Belfast's Linen Hall Library, Queen's University Belfast and the University of Ulster.
My background is in contemporary Northern Irish politics and much of my research reflects that. My main research interest, though, is on the impact of digital media on contemporary society. Previously, I have worked on large-scale digitisation projects, both as a manager and content creator, and this experience informs much of my writing. Consequently, my current research is focused mainly on the relationship between new media technologies and knowledge, exploring concepts like the universal library and utopianism in relation to the World Wide Web.
