Abstract: "Vulnerability" is an important concept in global change studies. At the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), we have come up with a formal model of vulnerability, in order to compare different vulnerability assessments (a task called meta-analysis), but also in order to better structure and test the software used for these assessments. I'd like to present some aspects of this formalization which are hopefully relevant and / or entertaining to the other participants.

Remark:  The ``participants'' referred to are the attenders of the WG2.1 meeting in Rome, where this talk was given.
