We would like to invite you to attend an event organised by the Horizon Doctoral Training Centre.
Event Title: Framing the Future
Studies of the Digital Economy abound with interesting paths and questions. There are challenges, however, in situating these enquiries in established disciplines. Issues of validity and methodology appear early in research about the Digital Economy, causing researchers to carefully consider how to frame and discuss their findings. Through keynotes, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions, this event will explore these challenges in the hopes of sharing strategies and common experiences in order to deepen the relevance and applicability of Digital Economy research. Scholars from a wide range of disciplines directly and obliquely related to the Digital Economy will engage with attendees to examine the difficulties of scholarship within it.
This event aims to bring together the community of researchers associated with the Horizon Doctoral Training Centre and the Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute across the University. It also provides an opportunity to consider specific research questions arising from work emerging from the Horizon Doctoral Training Centre.
Who should attend: All Staff and students with interests or research related to the use of ubiquitous and location based computing in society, business, work and life.
Please register by emailing emma.juggins@nottingham.ac.uk by 5pm on Friday 6th May 2011 to guarantee your place. Attendance is free.
