Speaker: Dr Rafael Bordini
Abstract: This talk will motivate the use of abstractions, techniques, and tools inspired by research in autonomous agents and multi-agent systems for the development of applications that are increasingly popular and for which autonomy is paramount. The talk will discuss the importance of combining the agent, social, and environment levels of a multi-agent system into a unified programming framework, with first-class programming abstractions at each of those levels. This approach will be exemplified by the recently developed JaCaMo platform (http://jacamo.sourceforge.net) that combines Jason agents, Cartago environments, and Moise organisations.
