An update on tuition fees

Friday, 13 February 2026
Undergraduate tuition fees for home students across the UK are due to increase over the next few years – make sure you know what this means for you.

You may have seen that the government has announced new caps on tuition fees for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years. We wanted to take a moment to ensure that you know what this means for your tuition fees moving forward.

If you are an international student or are expecting to conclude your undergraduate studies this year, the following changes will not apply to you.

How much will my tuition fees be?

Your tuition fees for the remainder of the 2025/26 academic year remain unchanged. Future fees for home undergraduate students will be as follows:

  • 2026/27 academic year will be £9,790
  • 2027/28 academic year will be £10,050

For full details, including fees for part-time students and reduced fees during your time studying abroad or on placement (where applicable), please visit our fees webpage.

These changes are due to come into effect across the UK from 1 August 2026.

What do I need to do?

If you pay your tuition fees via a loan from the Student Loans Company, you should reapply for your funding the forthcoming academic year as usual. The total fee loan available to you will be automatically updated.

If you make your tuition fee payments privately, you just need to ensure that you and your funding source are aware of these changes.

All tuition fee charges will automatically be reflected in NottinghamHub.

More information can be found on the government website.
