Become an IntoUniversity mentor

Tuesday, 08 February 2022
Volunteering as a mentor is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with young people, explore the charity sector and develop your communication, leadership and organisation skills.

In partnership with IntoUniversity, the Widening Participation and Outreach team are looking for voluntary student mentors to support young people with their educational, social and personal development.

The scheme involves:

  • Being a mentor and a positive role model to a young person (aged 10-17)
  • Attending one-to-one mentoring meetings for one hour per fortnight
  • Providing tailored support for academic attainment, social skills and future planning
  • Planning fun and inspiring activities for mentoring meetings

Further information about the scheme is available on the website.

Compulsory training sessions for those interested will be running between 1:30-4:30 pm, Monday 14 February. Anyone interested can find more information and sign up to the training via this link.
