Are you interested in helping to drive real change towards a sustainable future for the education sector?
The East Midlands Climate Ambassadors hub is looking for volunteers to become climate ambassadors and help turn climate and sustainability ambitions into actions.
The East Midlands hub is one of several regional hubs established across England to support the country’s educational sector. It’s hosted jointly by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
The scheme aims to support 2,500 education settings with their sustainability journeys, and the climate ambassadors will be integral in delivering this work.
As a climate ambassador, you will be matched to a local nursery, school or college that needs help building a climate action plan. Climate action plans will cover decarbonisation, adaptation and resilience, biodiversity, climate education, and green careers.
Anyone can apply to be a climate ambassador and you don’t need to be an expert in all of the above topics, as you’ll be provided with training. The scheme is looking for people who have knowledge of climate change, biodiversity or sustainability but, most importantly, for people who are passionate about driving change.
