Congratulations to our Vice-Chancellor's Medal winners

The medal recognises personal achievements and service to fellow students including contributions to life in halls; student societies and sporting clubs; representation of the student body; or volunteering in the community.

The event took place on Tuesday 17 February, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jane Norman and Academic Registrar, Chris Hulse were delighted to host The Vice-Chancellor’s Medals Ceremony.

Our student winners:

  • Madeleine Axford for outstanding contribution to the university as player and captain for the Ladies' Hockey Club and her recent centralised contract offer by Great Britain and England Hockey
  • Zack Devaney for outstanding leadership and dedication to the university's Men’s Hockey Club
  • Ed Dickinson for outstanding contribution to organise performance canoeing without the associated club infrastructure
  • Nishadi Gamage for outstandingacademic and research achievements as a joint PhD candidate
  • Georgia Meachem for going above and beyond as a participation sport ambassador
  • Nuriat Oluwa for being a driving force in advancing reparative justice within the university community
