Disability Recognition Month

Monday, 10 November 2025
The theme this year is disability and belonging.

Disability Recognition Month takes place this year between Friday 14 November and Saturday 20 December and will be celebrated with a number of interactive events, activities and initiatives taking place across the university.

Disability Recognition Month invites us to reflect on what it truly means to feel welcome. It centres the lived experiences of disabled people, exploring inclusion, community and the barriers - both visible and invisible - that can prevent full participation in society. Belonging is more than being present; it’s about being seen, heard and valued.

This is an additional opportunity to celebrate our disabled students, staff and wider community. It’s also a chance to ask important questions about how we create spaces where everyone feels they belong.
