Industrial action update

Tuesday, 23 September 2025
Members of the University & College Union (UCU) at the University of Nottingham are undertaking industrial action with strike activity proposed from Monday 22 September.

The university will remain open throughout industrial action and the vast majority of teaching and learning will proceed as usual over the next few weeks.

Please assume that your lectures, seminars, classes and induction sessions will take place as usual unless notified otherwise.

University facilities remain open - libraries, computer rooms and all university buildings will continue to operate throughout the industrial action.

If there is disruption to your teaching, your school will communicate directly with you by email.

While we have asked colleagues to notify us of their intention to participate in strike action, they are not required to do this and so we will not necessarily be able to contact you in advance.

You can find general information on our Welcome website and Student Enquiry Centre.

We are committed to minimising disruption to students and to research activity. We respect our colleagues' right to take part in industrial action and will continue to work with union representatives to address their concerns.
